Don Marrs, PT
Don has been a manual therapist for the past 33 years. He has expertise in many areas including: Myofascial Release, joint mobilization from Cyriax, Maitland, Norwegian to Canadian techniques, Osteopathic direct and indirect treatments, Muscle Energy, and advanced Strain- Counterstrain techniques.
Don has spent the last 27 years on the clinical faculty at the University of Washington Medical School. He was one of the founders of the Washington State Orthopedic Physical Therapy Special Interest Group and has spent 30 years on the eastside of Lake Washington.
Don has been a partner in MarRan PT since its founding in 2000. Prior to that, he directed Don Marrs PT /Matrix in Redmond, and also Healthsouth of Bellevue. He owned Pacific NW Sport and PT in Bellevue for 15 years, and was Clinical Director of PT at Overlake Hospital in 1978.
He has provided care to many professional athletes, working with the Seattle Seahawks for 10 years and also with college and high school athletes from all over the Northwest. He has treated Olympic athletes and professional tennis players. He is an active tennis player, marathon runner, hiker, photographer, gardener, husband, and father of two daughters.
Lisa Devlieg, MPT,OCS
Lisa graduated from the University of Washington in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Since that time, she has taken continuing education courses from a variety of perspectives including integrated systems model, strain counter-strain, muscle energy, North American Institute of Manual Therapy, and functional movement training. She uses her knowledge from each of these to develop and implement a treatment plan that is specific to the individual patient. She received her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) designation in 2011.
Patient education and teaching are vital aspects of her work as a physical therapist. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with patients so they can better understand and help themselves through the rehab process.
Her clinical interests include post-op rehabilitation, upper quadrant and lumbopelvic dysfunction with heavy emphasis on core stabilization.
She has lived on the eastside all her life and enjoys the outdoors. She is an avid runner, enjoys hiking, biking and traveling when she gets the chance.
Sarah Chisholm, PT
Sarah received her BA in Kinesiology Exercise and Fitness from The University of Northern Colorado in1992. She went on to earn her BS in Physical Therapy at the University of New Mexico in 1997. Since graduation, Sarah has worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics. Her specialties include extensive continuing education in manual therapy, gait analysis, and custom orthotics fabrication. She also enjoys working with upper quadrant dysfunction including cervical, thoracic, and shoulder injuries.
Her philosophy of practice is to educate patients regarding their condition and combine this with focused manual and therapeutic interventions to provide a successful outcome for the client. She strives to provide a comfortable, friendly, and gentle atmosphere to bolster confidence and foster healing.
Sarah's hobbies include playing with her two children, water skiing, and working out.
Stephanie Cearns, BS, DPT
Stephanie was born and raised in South Bend, WA and received a BS from Western Washington University in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy in 2003. Besides her 3 years spent at WWU, she also studied abroad at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu for a year.
Stephanie received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in June of 2008. While there, she volunteered at EWU's Children's Center administering free developmental screening tests to children 5 months-3 years of age. Stephanie also spent time working with children at OHSU's Doernbecker's Children's Hospital in Portland, OR. Other internships include working at the Veteran's Hospital in Seattle with patient's with new prosthetic limbs, total joint replacements, chronic pain, and patients recovering from strokes. She loves the outpatient setting at MarRan because it allows her to work with patients of all ages and with a variety of diagnoses. Her goal as a therapist is to provide individualized care to each patient and enable them to assume an active role in their rehabilitation. Since receiving her doctorate, she has taken multiple courses focusing on furthering her skills as a manual therapist in order to provide the best care possible for all of her patients.
Stephanie’s interests include traveling, hiking, playing basketball, reading, being at the ocean, and spending time with her friends, family, and pug Blue.
Lauren Quinn, PT, DPT
Lauren was born and raised in Redmond, Washington and received her BS in Exercise and Sport Science/Pre-Physical Therapy from Western Washington University in 2006.
Lauren received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from AT Still University in Mesa, AZ in 2010. In addition, Lauren has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2006 and enjoys working with clients to establish a comprehensive program focusing on core stability and muscle balance.
Lauren had the opportunity to work in a Hippotherapy clinic while in AZ where she learned the value of using a horse as a clinical tool to provide healthy exercise, improve muscle tone and strength, increase balance, and raise self-confidence and esteem. Once back in WA, Lauren began to volunteer at the Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center in Woodinville, WA where she helps provide equine-assisted therapy for children and adults with disabilities.
Lauren's other interests include soccer, skiing, football, and spending time with friends and family.
Michael Blizniak, PT, DPT, CSCS
Michael Blizniak grew up in western New York, and received a BS in clinical science/physical therapy in 2009, and Masters & Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy in 2010 from Ithaca College in central New York. At Ithaca, Michael was involved in the soccer and cycling clubs and was a three year member of the varsity swim team where he was voted team captain his senior year.
Michael’s clinical rotation experience included two outpatient settings, a skilled nursing facility and a hospital setting located in New York, North Carolina, California and New Jersey respectfully. Some highlights from Michael’s clinicals include working directly with a Certified Hand Therapist in developing orthopedic splints for various orthopedic and neurological pathologies, giving wound care in an outpatient hospital setting, consulting with Prosthetists & Orthotists in developing artificial limbs, AFO's and wheelchairs and developing a return to sport test for athletes. His continuing education courses include passing the National Strength & Conditioning Association's Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist test, taking a course on Myofascial Release and a High Velocity Low Amplitude manipulations course for the Spine & Extremities.
Helping, teaching and empowering people are just a few core elements a physical therapist can offer. As a physical therapist, Michael takes this opportunity to directly enable people to overcome obstacles that affect their quality of life. When not in the clinic, Michael enjoys reading, hiking with his girlfriend and their yellow lab Tuscan, bike racing, skiing, swimming, longboarding, rock climbing, and hopes to take up Stand Up Paddle Boarding and Kite Surfing!
Lisa Vasek, DPT, CMPT, COMT
Lisa is a manual physical therapist specializing in spinal dysfunctions. She enjoys helping patients with acute or chronic neck, middle back, lower back, and sacroiliac issues return to normal functional activities. She is also proficient with rehabilitation to the extremity joints.
Lisa is a San Diego native, graduating from Creighton University in 2004 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is also a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) obtained through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy 2008. She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) receiving marks of distinction from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2010. She is currently working on her becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association.
Some personal achievements include playing collegic soccer at Allegheny Collage (Pennsylvania), summiting Mt. Rainier, and completing 4 marathons. Currently, she enjoys skiing, hiking, backpacking, and camping.
