Don Marrs, PT
Don has been a manual therapist for the past 32 years. He has expertise in many areas including myofascial release, joint mobilization from Cyriax, Maitland, Norwegian to Canadian techniques, osteopathic direct and indirect treatments, muscle energy and advanced strain counterstrain techniques.
Don has spent the last 27 years on the clinical faculty at the University of Washington Medical School. He was one of the founders of the Washington State Orthopedic Physical Therapy Special Interest Group and has spent the past 30 years on the eastside of Lake Washington.
Don has been a partner in MarRan PT since its founding in 2000. Prior to that he directed Don Marrs PT in Redmond/Matrix and also Healthsouth of Bellevue. He owned Pacific NW Sport and PT in Bellevue for 15 years and was clinical director of PT at Overlake Hospital in 1978.
He has provided care to many professional athletes, working with the Seahawks for 10 years and also with college and high school athletes from all over the Northwest. He has also treated Olympic athletes and professional tennis players. He is an active tennis player, marathon runner, hiker, photographer, gardener, husband and father of two daughters.
Lisa DeVlieg, MPT
Lisa graduated in 2001 from the University of Washington with a Master’s degree in Physical
Therapy. Her continuing education since that time has primarily consisted of coursework
through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy. She is currently working towards
certification as a manual therapist in that program. In addition, she has experience in muscle
energy and strain-counterstrain techniques.
Patient education and teaching are a vital aspect of her work as a physical therapist. She has lab
assisted in continuing education courses and serves as the Clinical Instructor for interns that have
performed rotations in our clinic.
Her clinical interests include functional closed chain rehabilitation, post-op rehabilitation, upper
quadrant and lumbopelvic dysfunction, with heavy emphasis on core stabilization.
She has lived on the eastside all her life and enjoys the outdoors. Her hobbies include running,
hiking, biking and traveling.
Sarah Chisholm, PT
Sarah received her BA in Kinesiology Exercise and Fitness from the University of Northern
Colorado in 1992. She went on to get her BS in Physical Therapy at the University of New
Mexico in 1997. For the last 10 years she has worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics. Her
specialties include extensive continuing education in manual therapy and gait analysis and
custom orthotics fabrication. She enjoys working with upper quadrant dysfunctions including
cervical thoracic and shoulder injuries.
Her philosophy of practice is to educate patients regarding their condition and combine this with
focused manual and therapeutic interventions to provide a successful outcome for the client. She
strives to provide a comfortable, friendly and gentile atmosphere to bolster confidence and foster
healing.
Sarah’s hobbies include playing with her two children, water skiing and working out.
Anthony Yengo, DPT, ATC, MTC, CSCS
Anthony specializes in manual physical therapy and corrective exercise for the spine, pelvis and shoulder complex. In addition, Anthony has an interest in athletic injuries and has experience with athletes of all ages.
Originally from up-state New York, Anthony earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training at the University of New York at Cortland in 1999 and a Clinical Doctorate in physical therapy at the University of St. Augustine in Florida. Also, he has worked as an athletic trainer at Redmond and Lake Washington High Schools, has worked in a number of multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinics, and has been at MarRan physical therapy since 2007. Anthony has an advanced certification in manual therapy from the University of St. Augustine and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
An avid sports fan, Anthony follows all sports and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Laura Clever, MPT
Laura Clever received her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington in 2001. Since that time, she has focused on outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Laura has continued her education in manual therapy with North American Institute of Orthopeadic Manual Therapy, Jones Institute Strain/Counterstrain, Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, and URSA Muscle Energy.
Core Stabilization is a key aspect of Laura's exercise therapy for spine and sports injury rehabilitation. She loves working with athletes of all ages with a personal background in gymnastics. Laura specializes in post-operative orthopedic surgeries and has extensive experience with lumbar, pelvic, and sacroiliac pain syndromes. She also works frequently with pregnant and post-partum patients with lumbopelvic dysfunction. Laura emphasizes ergonomic and postural education progressing toward functional movement.
Laura enjoys skiing, swimming, traveling, scuba diving, reading, and chasing after her two kids in her spare time.
Stephanie Cearns, DPT
Stephanie was born and raised in South Bend, WA and received a BS from Western Washington University in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy in 2003. Besides her 3 years spent at WWU, she also studied abroad at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu for a year.
Stephanie received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in June of 2008. While there, she volunteered at EWU’s Children’s Center administering free developmental screening tests to children 5 months-3 years of age. Stephanie also spent time working with children at OHSU’s Doernbecker’s Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR. Over the past year, she spent 6 months working at the Veteran’s Hospital in Seattle working with patient’s with new prosthetic limbs, total joint replacements, chronic pain, and patients recovering from strokes. She loves the outpatient setting at MarRan because it allows her to work with patients of all ages with a variety of diagnoses. Her goal as a therapist is to provide individualized care to each patient and enable them to assume an active role in their rehabilitation.
Stephanie’s interests include traveling, hiking, playing basketball, dancing, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and new puppy Blue.
